Behavior Management System
If students are misbehaving, misusing their learning time, or being disrespectful during class the following consequences will take place:
First Offense: verbal warning
Second Offense: Students will receive a check mark on our class behavior chart. This will effect their grade for responsible behavior.
Third Offense: Students will receive a minus mark on our class behavior chart and must fill out a negative decisions slip. Slip must be signed by parents and turned in the following day.
If a student receives 3 minus marks in one quarter they will have to serve detention (30 or 60 minutes)
Class Rewards
Students have the opportunity to earn rewards as a class, as a table group, and as an individual.
The class is working together to earn letters. These letters spell words like "ice cream party" or "extra recess". In order to earn a letter the entire class must be doing "Star Work" all week, meaning that no student received a check mark/minus sign that week. The class may also earn letters for accomplishing goals throughout the year, behaving extra well on a field trip, etc.
Students will work with their table groups to stay on task by competing with one another to earn "table points". Tables points can be earned by being the first group to follow directions, the group working the quietest, the group working best as a team, etc. Once a table has earned 20 table points, they get to go to the treasure box.
Individuals who are on task, being a good example, helping a classmate, modeling good manners, or doing exemplary work will receive a "caught you being good" ticket. These tickets go into a raffle that is done every Friday. 3 students are chosen from the raffle to go to the treasure box.
