Track Tuesday began this week! Teachers and students are practicing good exercise habits by running laps before school, during lunch and sometimes taking brain breaks and running laps during class. We are competing against all of the other classes to run the most laps over the course of the trimester. 4th grade is fired up and off to a great start! :)
Feast of Saint Francis & Blessing of the Animals
Our annual Blessing of the Animals is Wednesday, October 4th on the Feast of St. Francis. Families are invited to bring their kid-friendly, well-behaved pets at 2:30 to the blacktop for a special blessing. While this is a lovely tradition, we ask that all dogs are leashed and that other pets are contained to limit the chaos. Please be respectful when Fr. Gerard leads us in prayer and is blessing the animals. Students will gather with their class around the basketball court.
Prayer of Saint Francis Quiz next Wednesday! One of the prayers that we are required to learn in 4th grade is the Prayer of Saint Francis. We are studying the prayer all week long and the students will be quizzed on the prayer next Wednesday. They will need to be able to write it.
4th Grade Mass is next Friday, October 6th. All families are welcomed and encouraged to join us for this special event. Please make sure your child is in the hall ready for church before 7:45.
Star of the Week Presentations start next week! Each student will get a chance to be the star of the week at some point during the school year. The calendar is posted on my website. Students will create a presentation about themselves using the app Keynote. On Friday they will get to share their presentation with the class and they can bring in one special item to share. The guidelines are also posted on my website.
Book Report Novels need to be read by the time students come back from the long weekend (10/10). We will be writing this first book report together IN CLASS. The rest of the book reports this year will be done as at-home projects. Due dates are on my website.

Our Banker & Store Manager Are Working Hard at Dojo Store this Week!
Dojo Store/Make up Time
Students get paid every two weeks and get the chance to visit the Dojo Store. This 40 minute time period every other Friday is also used as a "catch up" time where students can check gradelink, check the no name pile, and work on any incomplete assignments. If students have missing assignments they are not allowed to come to store until they get caught up. Students who are all caught up get this time as an academic free time.
Join PIP on Thursday mornings at the lunch tables to pray for our community!
Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the Gala Kick Off Meeting Wednesday, 8:00 in the Ministry Center!
Please join Class Dojo for updates on student behavior, announcements and photos!
