Our Overnight Field Trip to the Lazy W Ranch was a HUGE success! The students were polite, well behaved and really knew their California history! We had two very full days of fun, hands-on learning. I loved getting to spend time with the students outside of the classroom and enjoy their fun personalities! Thank you again to our awesome chaperones for their time and energy, we couldn't have done it without you: Scott Lang, Chris Eakin, Hands Prosch, Mike Kimberlain, Mary McGuinness and Tinya Fleming! I created video slideshow of the photos that I showed to the class today. I am still working on a way to privately share it with the 4th grade families. The file is too large to e-mail. If you have any ideas, let me know (it is an iMovie file) :)

4th Grade Mass: The 4th grade will be leading worship and doing the readings at mass this week. We would love to see many 4th grade parents join us for our last mass of the year! Students should be at the church before 7:45!
May is the month of Mary. We have many special celebrations like our May Crowning Mass next Friday and a Living Rosary Prayer service on Monday, May 15th. The 4th grade studied how to pray The Rosary back in October. This month we will be studying the Mysteries of the Rosary. The Rosary is one of our 4th grade prayers that we memorize, so the students will be learning about a group of mysteries each week in May and will be tested on them at the end of the month. A guide will be handed out on Monday.
Family Life started this week. If you still have the Parent Connection Packet, please send it back to school at your earliest convenience. Thank you!
Geometry- this chapter in math there are are ton of terms that the students are required to learn and memorize. We are creating Geometry Dictionary e-books to take notes and record real-life examples of the various geometry terms using drawings and photographs. This will be a big project grade for this trimester. If students are not staying caught up on their notes (or they are absent) they will need to add these notes to their Geo Dictionaries at home. A checklist will go home next week and the project will be due at the end of the chapter. The students will also be quizzed periodically throughout the chapter to ensure that they are studying their terms each week.
SPINNERS are NOT allowed in the 4th grade classroom. These toys have been causing a lot of distraction at school and should be kept at HOME. Thank you!
STEM CAMP! Miss Williams and I are so excited to be putting on a STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) CAMP this summer at SJA. This will be a fun and engaging, hands-on learning experience for our campers that requires critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. I would LOVE to see some of my awesome 4th graders there! :)
