Congratulations to the 4th grade Peacemaker Sammie!
For the 2nd trimester, Mrs. Clemens and the 4th grade class chose Sammie as Peacemaker. When asked about her character, Sammie's classmates described her as nice, loving, funny, and polite. They also said that she is a classmate who always goes out of her way to help and include others. Mrs. Clemens also recognizes these traits in Sammie through her words and actions. She is empathetic, considerate, and sensitive to others' feelings. One example of how sweet and thoughtful Sammie is.... this year on HER birthday, she hand drew personal illustrations for every student in the class. This girl is truly a friend to all. Sammie is also great role model because she is extremely hard working and always tries her best in everything that she does. Her positive attitude, kind spirit and faith filled heart bring light to our classroom everyday. Thank you Sammie, for being a peacemaker in 4th grade!
Each Trimester students also have the opportunity to be recognized for other special achievements. This trimester the following students were recognized:
Super Studious Students: Connor, Will & Nicolas
Awesome Attendance: Layli & Emma
Dependable Dojo (Model Behavior): Layli
IXL Extraordinaire: Sammie & David
Positive Attitude Award: Gavin
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the MANDATORY Overnight Field Trip Meeting TOMORROW March 23rd at 5:30 in the 4th grade classroom. It is a short meeting so please be ON TIME.
Kindness Week: Next week our school will be celebrating and practicing KINDNESS all week long through a variety of school-wide and classroom activities. Please talk with your children about what we're doing to build kindness at SJA.
Extra Credit in Language Arts: Last week the students had the opportunity to earn extra credit by writing Limericks over the weekend. They will also have an extra credit opportunity next week during Kindness Week.
Book Reports are due on March 31st (next Friday). By this point students should have their novels read and should be starting their board games. I passed out an optional plan sheet to help guide students in constructing their project. They should be working on a little bit each night! Directions were handed out in class and there is also information on my website. This is an at-home project.
